Ah yes – the September heatwave has come and gone. School is in full swing. Pumpkin spice everything is everywhere. The air is fresh and cool once again as colourful leaves float to the ground. October has arrived.
Thanksgiving seems to be one of the few times of year when people genuinely — albeit briefly — take a step back from their otherwise hectic day-to-day routines. This unique holiday, which dates back to October of the early-1600s, is one of the few on the calendar that does not require expensive gifts or elaborate parties. The second weekend in October is all about being thankful for the sweeter things in life, like friends and family.
